Sustainable Packaging

It matters…

As an eco-friendly business, I believe that packaging should be equally as sustainable as the carefully chosen products it contains.

Many businesses tend to overlook its significance, or even talk about it, but I feel it’s important you’re aware of every item included in your order.

We are ultimately responsible for the end-life of the packaging we receive, and being informed guarantees it aligns with our values. (I’m remembering a recent order I opened full of packing peanuts. Ugh!)

Almost all of the protective packaging I use is plant-based and curbside recyclable, and you’ll never find a plastic bag (or packing peanut!) in the box. You can feel good about shopping with Santa Fe Wool, knowing the positive environmental impact your purchase makes, from start to finish.

Below is a detailed list of packaging that I’m currently using. Some or all may be included, depending on your order, and I promise to continue seeking out better packing choices as they become available, and update this page as needed.

Exterior packaging:

+Kraft Paper Tape

  • 50% recycled content

  • Biodegradable plant-derived adhesive and backing

  • Renewable

  • Curbside recyclable with paper

+Cello Tape (Mainly used to cover address label, per new local UPS requirement. I caught their staff putting plastic packing tape on my plastic-free packages, and yes, [ahem] there was a minor scene. I have no idea how long that was going on, so my apologies if you received one of those! My solution is using this plant-based tape, in hopes of discouraging them from adding plastic tape. Crossing my fingers!)

  • 100% Plant-derived

  • Renewable

  • Recycle compatible: does not inhibit boxes from being recycled

Be part of the solution…

Never give up asking businesses you purchase from about their eco-conscious policies! The more we let them know we care, the more likely they’ll step away from plastics, sooner rather than later.

I truly believe that every single one of us can make a difference, no matter how small it may seem.
